Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a skilled Remote Electrical Design Engineer in South Africa to design renewable energy systems from a home office. You will lead end-to-end electrical design for solar PV and battery storage, delivering robust schematics and diagrams using CAD tools.

You will perform load calculations, select components, size systems, and prepare technical specs and BOMs for procurement and installation, while coordinating with project managers and installation teams remotely.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 5+ years in electrical design (renewables).
• CAD software proficiency (AutoCAD, SolidWorks Electrical).
• Familiar with power electronics and grid-tie inverters.

Responsibilities

• Design and engineer electrical systems for renewable energy projects.
• Develop schematics, single-line diagrams, and wiring layouts using CAD.
• Perform load calculations and component selection for safe, efficient designs.
• Prepare BOMs and procurement docs; support installation teams remotely.
