Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a talented Solar Energy Systems Engineer to join its fully remote team. You will design, analyze, and optimize PV systems for residential, commercial, and utility-scale projects across South Africa, collaborating with sales, project management, and installation teams.

You will use PVsyst and Helioscope to model energy production and financial performance, develop electrical schematics, and provide guidance during proposals and project execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 4 years of solar PV design/engineering.
• Proficiency with PV design software (PVSyst/Helioscope).
• Ability to work fully remote.

Responsibilities

• Design and engineer PV system configurations.
• Perform energy production simulations and financial analyses.
• Develop technical specs, schematics, and installation guides.
• Provide technical support to sales and installation teams.
• Conduct performance reviews of assets and suggest improvements.
• Stay updated on solar tech and industry standards.
