Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to contribute to major infrastructure projects from a remote location in South Africa. You will focus on electrical design, ensuring safe, efficient systems that meet relevant standards and collaborate with project teams via virtual channels.

Responsibilities include developing detailed designs for power distribution, lighting and earthing, preparing CAD drawings and calculations, and ensuring compliance with codes.

Qualifications

• B.Eng. or B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering.
• 3+ years of experience in electrical design for infrastructure.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical or similar CAD software.
• Strong knowledge of power systems and building services.
• Excellent remote collaboration and communication skills.
• Ability to manage design tasks and meet deadlines independently.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed electrical designs for infrastructure, including power distribution, lighting, and earthing.
• Prepare drawings, specifications, and calculations using CAD software.
• Ensure compliance with national and international standards.
• Collaborate remotely with project managers, architects, and other engineers.
• Perform site assessments and travel as needed.
• Provide technical support during construction and commissioning.
