Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly motivated Lead Electrical Design Engineer to join a fully remote team, with initial placement in the Tembisa region. You will spearhead the design and development of advanced electrical systems, delivering robust, scalable solutions and guiding technical strategy in a remote-first environment.

You will lead schematics, layouts, and component selection, establish standards, and collaborate with software and hardware teams to ensure reliable performance.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• 10+ years leading complex electrical design projects.
• Proficiency with CAD and simulation tools.
• Experience leading remote, cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of electrical systems, including schematics and layouts.
• Develop and enforce electrical architecture standards for remote projects.
• Coordinate with remote software, hardware, and product teams.
• Perform performance analysis, simulations, and validation of designs.
• Create design specifications, test procedures, and user manuals.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship in a distributed team.
