Placements24 is seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer for a fully remote role based in Port Elizabeth, South Africa. You will drive the concept and detailed design of advanced electrical systems, from requirements gathering through verification, collaborating with distributed teams to push technology boundaries.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in electrical hardware design, deep knowledge of analog/digital circuits, power management, and embedded systems.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in electrical hardware design and product development.
• Expertise in analog and digital circuit design, power management, and microcontroller integration.
• Proficiency with EDA tools including Altium Designer and Cadence Allegro.
• Strong knowledge of embedded systems, firmware interfaces, and system-level architecture.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of complex electrical systems, including schematics and PCB layouts.
• Oversee the full design lifecycle, ensuring specs, budget, and timelines are met remotely.
• Conduct design reviews, risk assessments, and FMEA.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, software, and mechanical teams for integration.
• Mentor junior design engineers and promote best practices remotely.
• Prepare detailed design documentation, test plans, and manufacturing guidelines.
