About the Role

Our client, a rapidly growing national logistics firm with a significant presence across South Africa, is seeking a highly organized and tech-savvy Remote Dispatch and Fleet Management Coordinator. This position is unique as it is designed as a fully remote role, allowing the successful candidate to contribute effectively from anywhere within South Africa. You will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our fleet, ensuring efficient scheduling, tracking, and communication with drivers and clients. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional problem-solving skills, a strong understanding of logistics software, and the ability to manage a distributed workforce. This is a pivotal role that requires proactive communication and meticulous attention to detail to ensure optimal operational performance. Key Responsibilities

• Manage and optimize daily dispatch schedules for a fleet of delivery vehicles operating nationwide.


• Utilise advanced logistics software to track vehicle locations, monitor delivery progress, and predict ETAs in real-time.


• Serve as the primary point of contact for drivers, providing support, relaying instructions, and resolving issues remotely.


• Coordinate with sales and customer service teams to ensure timely pickups and deliveries and manage client expectations.


• Monitor fleet performance metrics, including fuel consumption, on-time delivery rates, and driver adherence to schedules.


• Identify and address potential disruptions or delays, implementing contingency plans as needed to maintain operational flow.


• Generate reports on fleet efficiency, operational costs, and key performance indicators for management review.


• Maintain accurate records of driver assignments, vehicle status, and delivery confirmations.


• Facilitate clear and consistent communication channels between drivers, management, and other stakeholders.


• Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement within the dispatch and fleet management functions, contributing to enhanced efficiency and cost savings, all managed remotely.

Requirements

• Proven experience in logistics coordination, dispatch, or fleet management, with a strong preference for candidates with remote work experience.


• Proficiency in using logistics management software (e.g., route optimization tools, GPS tracking systems, dispatch software).
