You should have a strong statistical background, ML expertise, and the ability to translate complex findings into clear recommendations for stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in a quantitative field (Data Science, Statistics, CS).
• 5+ years as a Data Scientist in mining/resources or related sectors.
• Proficiency in Python or R and ML libraries; strong SQL and big data tech.
• Experience with cloud platforms and ML Ops principles.

Responsibilities

• Develop, train, and deploy ML models for predictive maintenance and optimization.
• Analyze large mining datasets (geological, operational, sensor data).
• Design A/B tests and statistical analyses to validate hypotheses.
• Collaborate with engineers and geologists to identify data opportunities.
• Communicate findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Build data pipelines and dashboards to monitor KPIs.
