Placements24 is seeking a senior Data Scientist to join a fully remote team focused on advanced resource modeling for global mining operations. You will leverage machine learning, statistics, and data visualization to build predictive models that enhance mineral exploration and resource estimation accuracy.

The role involves collaborating with geologists, geophysicists, and engineers, deploying end-to-end data pipelines, and staying at the forefront of AI applications in mining.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
• 5+ years experience as a Data Scientist with a strong portfolio of predictive modeling projects.
• Proficient in Python or R and ML libraries (scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
• Experience with big data technologies and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Strong communication and collaboration skills for remote work.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and deploy ML models for resource estimation and exploration targeting.
• Analyze large datasets from geological surveys, seismic data, and production logs.
• Create data visualizations and reports for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
