Placements24 is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to lead analytics in the mining sector. You will develop advanced models to predict ore grades, forecast equipment failures, and drive data-informed decisions across exploration, production, and operations.

You will collaborate with geologists and engineers, build dashboards, and mentor junior data scientists, enabling the company to advance its data science capabilities globally. This is a remote-friendly role with flexible hours.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Data Science, Statistics, CS or a related quantitative field.
• 5+ years of professional Data Scientist experience with mining/industrial applications.
• Proficiency in Python or R and libraries such as scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch.
• SQL proficiency and experience with big data technologies (Spark, Hadoop).
• Strong communication and ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deploy ML models to predict ore grades and optimize processes.
• Analyze large datasets to identify trends and operational improvements.
• Collaborate with geologists, engineers, and operations teams.
• Build dashboards and visualizations to communicate findings.
