Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a skilled and analytical Data Analyst to join a fully remote team supporting mining operations worldwide. You will collect, process, and analyze large datasets spanning resource extraction, operations, and geological surveys to deliver actionable insights.

Collaborate with geologists and engineers to understand data needs, build dashboards, use Python, SQL, and BI tools, ensure data quality, and present clear recommendations to drive efficiency and planning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (Data Science, Statistics, CS, Economics).
• Proven experience as Data Analyst, preferably in mining/resources.
• Proficiency with Python, R, SQL, Tableau/Power BI.
• Strong statistical knowledge and data management.
• Excellent communication and ability to work remotely.

Responsibilities

• Collect, clean, and organize large datasets from various sources.
• Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to visualize KPIs and trends.
• Perform complex data analysis to identify patterns and anomalies.
• Collaborate with geologists and engineers to understand data needs and provide analytical support.
• Utilize statistical methods and data mining to extract insights and make recommendations.
• Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and security throughout the analysis process.
