Placements24 is seeking a highly skilled Data Scientist for a fully remote role focusing on mining operations. You will transform large operational and geological data into actionable insights using ML, statistics, and visualization to drive efficiency, safety, and resource optimization.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or Ph.D. in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
• 5+ years of professional experience as a Data Scientist, with demonstrable mining or natural resources sector experience.
• Proficiency in Python or R, and libraries such as Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, Pandas.
• Experience with SQL, NoSQL databases, and big data technologies (Spark).
• Strong understanding of statistical modeling, ML algorithms, and data mining techniques.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills for remote settings.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deploy ML models for predictive maintenance and ore grade forecasting.
• Analyze large datasets from sensors and surveys to identify KPIs and improvement areas.
• Create data visualizations and dashboards to communicate findings to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with geologists, engineers, and ops managers on data-driven solutions.
