Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Data Privacy Counsel to join its expanding legal team. This 100% remote role focuses on data privacy, POPIA and GDPR, advising on policies, DPIAs, DPAs, and privacy contracts.

You will work with global teams to ensure compliant, ethical data practices and stay abreast of evolving privacy laws. Admitted Attorney with 5+ years in privacy law preferred; CIPP certification is a plus.

Qualificações

• Admitted Attorney with at least 5 years of data privacy law experience.
• Strong knowledge of POPIA, GDPR and international privacy regs.
• Experience conducting DPIAs and managing data breach responses.
• CIPP certification is a strong advantage.

Responsabilidades

• Develop and implement data privacy policies and procedures.
• Advise on data protection implications of new products and marketing.
• Conduct Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and manage data breach responses.
• Ensure compliance with POPIA, GDPR and other privacy laws.
• Review and negotiate Data Processing Agreements (DPAs) and privacy contracts.
• Provide training on privacy best practices.
• Stay updated on evolving privacy laws globally.
• Handle privacy inquiries from regulators and data subjects.
• Support development of data governance frameworks.
