Placements24 is seeking a Senior Data Privacy Counsel to join its fully remote legal team. This role focuses on robust data privacy compliance across global operations and advising on data protection strategies in a technology-driven environment.

The ideal candidate is admitted in the High Court of South Africa, with 6+ years in data privacy or technology law, deep POPIA and GDPR knowledge, and experience drafting privacy policies, notices, DPAs and DPIAs.

• Admitted attorney with 6+ years in data privacy or technology law.
• Strong knowledge of POPIA and GDPR.
• Experience drafting privacy policies, notices, and DPAs.
• Ability to work remotely and independently.

Mansioni

• Develop, implement, and maintain global data privacy policies and procedures.
• Advise on data privacy implications of new products and initiatives.
• Conduct DPIAs and Privacy by Design reviews.
• Manage DSARs and other privacy rights requests.
• Oversee breach notification processes and investigations.
• Provide training on data privacy best practices.
• Monitor changes in privacy laws and advise on updates.
• Review data processing agreements and privacy clauses in contracts.
• Assist with regulatory inquiries and investigations.
• Collaborate with IT, security, and compliance teams.
