Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly motivated Remote Process Optimization Engineer to join a globally distributed team. This role supports Welkom and beyond, leveraging data analytics, modeling, and simulation to improve chemical processes from home.

You will autonomously analyze process data, build predictive models, and propose modifications to increase yield, reduce energy use, and minimize waste, with strong communication to site teams and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Chemical Engineering or related quantitative field.
• 5+ years in process optimization, data analysis, or process modeling in chemicals.
• Expertise in process simulation software and advanced statistical analysis tools.
• Proven ability to work independently in a remote setting.
• Strong data visualization and communication for presenting findings.
• Experience with machine learning applied to industrial processes is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Analyze large datasets to identify trends and bottlenecks.
• Develop mathematical models and simulations to test improvement strategies.
• Propose and design modifications to enhance yield and reduce energy use.
