Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Remote Site Safety Officer to uphold top-tier safety across construction sites, including Soweto. This role blends field oversight with remote coordination, developing programs, conducting audits, and guiding site teams from a distance.

You will implement safety plans, deliver toolbox talks, investigate incidents, and ensure compliance with South African health and safety laws, while working remotely and collaborating with site personnel.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Site Safety Officer in the construction industry.
• Knowledge of SA occupational health and safety legislation and best practices.
• Certification in Safety Management is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain site-specific health and safety plans and procedures.
• Conduct regular risk assessments and safety audits with improvement recommendations.
• Investigate incidents and non-conformities and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and regulations.
• Deliver safety training and toolbox talks to site personnel.
• Maintain accurate safety records and documentation.
