Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Remote Construction Safety Officer to oversee health and safety across multiple construction sites in South Africa. You will remotely monitor compliance, develop safety protocols, and guide site teams to uphold a safety-first culture.

The ideal candidate holds CSP or equivalent certification, has 3–5 years of experience in construction safety, and is proficient in risk assessment, incident reporting, and delivering remote training.

Qualifications

• CSP certification or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of construction safety experience.
• In-depth knowledge of OHS Act and Construction Regulations.
• Proficient in risk assessment and hazard identification methods.
• Strong remote communication and safety training skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive health and safety plans for construction projects.
• Conduct remote and on-site safety inspections and audits to identify hazards and ensure compliance.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, preparing detailed reports and corrective actions.
• Provide safety training and toolbox talks to site personnel, remotely and potentially in-person.
• Ensure all construction activities adhere to applicable safety legislation and company policies.
• Maintain safety records and documentation for projects across KwaZulu-Natal.
