Placements24 is seeking a highly skilled Computational Biologist to join a remote-first research team, driving insights from large-scale biological data to advance drug discovery and precision medicine.

You will develop bioinformatics pipelines, run statistical analyses, collaborate with clinicians, and communicate results through clear visualizations. A PhD or Master’s in a quantitative field and strong Python or R skills are required, with cloud experience a plus.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. or Master's degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
• Strong programming skills in Python or R, with experience in relevant bioinformatics libraries.
• Proficiency in analyzing large-scale biological datasets (e.g., next-generation sequencing, microarray data).
• Solid understanding of biological pathways, molecular mechanisms, and common biological databases.
• Experience with cloud computing platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement bioinformatics pipelines for the analysis of genomic, transcriptomic, and proteomic data.
• Design and perform statistical analyses to identify biological patterns and significant findings.
• Collaborate with experimental biologists and clinicians to interpret complex datasets and guide research strategies.
• Create visualizations and reports to effectively communicate findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in bioinformatics, machine learning, and computational biology.
