Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a remote Senior Computational Biologist to join a cutting-edge drug discovery team. You will analyze large biological datasets, design in silico experiments, and help identify novel targets and drug candidates from any location.

Candidates should hold a PhD and 4+ years in computational biology or bioinformatics with Python or R skills; strong collaboration across disciplines and ability to work asynchronously in a distributed team are essential.

Qualifications

• PhD required in computational biology, bioinformatics, computer science, or related field.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in computational biology or bioinformatics within drug discovery.
• Strong programming skills in Python or R, with cheminformatics and bioinformatics libraries.

Responsibilities

• Develop and apply computational models to analyze large-scale biological datasets (transcriptomics, proteomics, genomics).
• Design and execute virtual screening campaigns and molecular docking studies.
• Integrate diverse biological data sources to build predictive models for drug efficacy and safety.
• Collaborate virtually with medicinal chemists, biologists, and pharmacologists to guide drug discovery programs.
• Develop and maintain bioinformatics pipelines and software tools for data analysis and visualization.
• Interpret complex biological results and present findings to project teams and leadership.
