Placements24 is seeking a highly experienced Legal Consultant specializing in compliance to join its fully remote advisory team. This senior role focuses on strategic guidance to clients across sectors, ensuring adherence to regulatory obligations from a home office.

You will develop and audit compliance programs, advise on complex laws including data privacy and financial services, and lead training initiatives while managing client relationships remotely with autonomy and professionalism.

Qualifications

• Admitted Attorney or equivalent with minimum 7 years in compliance and regulatory law.
• In-depth knowledge of South African legislation relevant to corporate compliance.
• Proven ability to work autonomously and manage client relationships remotely.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.
• Exceptional communication and presentation abilities for virtual delivery.
• Experience developing and delivering compliance training programs.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive compliance programs tailored to client needs.
• Advise clients on navigating regulatory landscapes across financial services, data privacy, and industry-specific laws.
• Conduct compliance audits and risk assessments, identifying areas for improvement.
• Draft and review compliance policies, procedures, and training materials.
• Stay abreast of evolving regulatory requirements and provide proactive guidance.
