Placements24 seeks a remote Commercial Litigation Associate for a leading SA law firm. You will manage diverse commercial disputes, conduct in-depth legal research, draft pleadings, and represent clients across various forums. Remote work offers autonomy and flexibility with a demanding caseload.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years in commercial litigation, excellent research and writing skills, and proficiency with e-discovery and case management tools. A home office setup is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in commercial litigation.
• Admitted Attorney of the High Court of South Africa.
• Strong research, writing and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage all phases of commercial litigation from inception to resolution.
• Conduct comprehensive legal research using databases and resources.
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and responses.
• Prepare for depositions, hearings, and mediations.
• Analyze complex legal issues and develop case strategies.
• Communicate with clients and opposing counsel via digital platforms.
• Review and organize documents for discovery purposes.
• Assist senior litigators in trial preparation.
• Ensure timely and accurate billing and time entries.
