Placements24 is seeking a highly skilled Senior Commercial Litigation Associate to join our client’s legal department. This remote-first position allows you to contribute from a home office, ideally based in or near Cape Town, Western Cape, South Africa, while guiding high-stakes disputes.

You will manage complex cases, advise on strategy, and represent clients in court, mediations, arbitrations, and settlements, all within a collaborative, tech-enabled remote environment that supports

Qualifications

• At least 7 years' experience in commercial litigation in SA.
• Admitted Attorney with South African practice.
• Strong understanding of civil procedure and evidence.
• Experience in managing junior lawyers and paralegals.
• Ability to work effectively in a remote setting.
• Excellent written and oral advocacy.
• Proactive and strong work ethic.

Responsabilités

• Manage all aspects of commercial litigation from start to finish.
• Conduct legal research, draft pleadings and motions.
• Represent clients in court hearings, mediations, arbitrations, settlements.
• Advise on litigation risks and strategies.
• Supervise junior associates and support staff.
• Develop tailored litigation strategies.
• Prepare witnesses for depositions.
• Analyze complex factual and legal issues.
• Maintain clear client communications.
