Placements24 is seeking a highly motivated Community Advocate for a fully remote role serving Mossel Bay, Western Cape. You will empower community members by connecting them with social services, guiding applications, and advocating for rights.

The candidate should be a strong communicator, proactive, and deeply committed to social justice, with experience in outreach, remote collaboration, and handling confidential information within South Africa.

Qualifications

• Experience in community advocacy, social work, outreach or related field.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to explain complex information clearly.
• Knowledge of social issues and resources within South Africa.
• Strong remote-work and digital communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple cases with confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Identify and engage with community members needing support or advocacy.
• Provide information and guidance on social services, healthcare, legal aid, and resources.
• Assist individuals in navigating applications and accessing services.
• Advocate for rights and needs with stakeholders and institutions.
• Develop and maintain a database of community resources in the Western Cape.
• Organize online information sessions and workshops for the community.
• Collect feedback to identify needs and service gaps.
• Collaborate with remote team and local partners to enhance service delivery.
• Maintain confidential records of client interactions and advocacy efforts.
• Promote community engagement and self-advocacy in Mossel Bay.
