Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a compassionate Social Worker for its Mossel Bay community services team. You will assess client needs, develop intervention plans, provide counseling and advocacy, and connect clients with services and networks to empower well-being.

Ideal candidates hold a Social Work degree, SACSSP registration, and proven community-based experience, with strong assessment and case management skills and the ability to work under pressure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work or equivalent qualification.
• Registered with the South African Council for Social Service Professions (SACSSP).
• Proven experience working as a Social Worker in a community-based setting.
• Strong understanding of social welfare systems and community resources in Mossel Bay.
• Excellent assessment, intervention, and case management skills.
• Empathy, resilience, and the ability to work effectively under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of client needs and circumstances.
• Develop and implement individualized care and intervention plans.
• Provide counseling, support, and advocacy for clients and their families.
• Liaise with other service providers, government agencies, and community resources.
• Maintain accurate and confidential case records in compliance with professional standards.
• Respond to crisis situations and provide immediate support and referrals.
