Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Commercial Transactions Lawyer to join the legal team on a fully remote basis in South Africa. You will draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements, including mergers, acquisitions, and joint ventures, while advising business units on strategy and risk.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years post-qualification experience in corporate and commercial transactions, strong drafting skills, and extensive knowledge of SA contract law.

Qualifications

• Admitted Attorney of the High Court of South Africa with strong corporate/commercial focus.
• 7+ years post-qualification experience in complex commercial transactions.

Responsibilities

• Lead negotiation, drafting, and finalization of commercial agreements including M&A and partnerships.
• Provide strategic legal counsel to internal teams on transactions and risk mitigation.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws and internal policies during deals.
• Conduct thorough due diligence and manage multiple transactions concurrently.
