Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Legal Consultant with extensive experience in Commercial Litigation to join on a contract basis. The role is primarily remote, serving clients across South Africa, including rustenburg and North West regions.

Responsibilities include advising clients, drafting pleadings, and representing in proceedings. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of civil procedure and contract law, with proven ability to work independently while delivering high-quality remote service.

Qualifications

• Admitted Attorney of the High Court of SA with 8+ years in commercial litigation.
• Proven track record in contractual claims, shareholder disputes, and insolvency.
• Strong knowledge of the Rules of the High Court and Magistrates' Court.
• Excellent advocacy, negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
• Ability to manage a caseload remotely and deliver high-quality work.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert legal advice on complex commercial litigation matters.
• Draft pleadings, affidavits, and court documents.
• Conduct thorough legal research and prepare case analyses.
• Manage discovery and document review.
• Represent clients in negotiations, mediations, arbitrations, and remote court hearings.
