Qualifications

About the Role

Our client, a global leader in cloud-based solutions, is seeking a talented and experienced Remote Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join their distributed engineering team. This is a 100% remote role, allowing you to leverage your expertise from anywhere. You will be instrumental in the design, implementation, and ongoing management of scalable, reliable, and secure cloud infrastructure on platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP. This position requires a deep understanding of cloud services, infrastructure as code (IaC), containerization, and automation. You will work closely with development, operations, and security teams to ensure the performance and availability of our cloud environments, supporting mission-critical applications and services. The ideal candidate is a proactive, hands-on engineer with a passion for cloud technology and a proven ability to thrive in a remote, collaborative setting. Key Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage highly available and scalable cloud infrastructure using services like EC2, S3, VPC, RDS, and container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker).
• Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines for automated application deployment and infrastructure updates.
• Configure and manage cloud security controls, including identity and access management, network security groups, and encryption.
• Monitor cloud resource utilization, performance, and costs, implementing optimization strategies.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure issues in cloud environments, ensuring minimal downtime.
• Collaborate with development teams to optimize applications for cloud deployment and performance.
• Automate routine operational tasks and infrastructure management processes.
• Stay current with cloud technologies and industry best practices, recommending and implementing new solutions.
• Participate in on-call rotation for incident response and emergency support.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Cloud Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or similar role, with a strong focus on cloud infrastructure.
• Extensive experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP), including core services.
• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
• Hands-on experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Solid understanding of networking concepts, security principles, and best practices in cloud environments.
• Experience with CI/CD tools and methodologies (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps).
• Strong scripting skills (e.g., Python, Bash).
• Ability to work autonomously, manage time effectively, and collaborate in a remote team setting.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Relevant cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Administrator) are highly desirable.
