Placements24 seeks an experienced Remote Cloud Security Engineer to join a fully remote technology team. You will design, implement, and manage security controls across cloud platforms, and respond to incidents while advocating best practices for secure software development.

You will automate security processes using IaC, collaborate with development and operations, and stay current with evolving cloud threats and technologies. This role is remote-first with flexible hours.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT or related field.
• 4+ years cybersecurity experience, at least 2 years in cloud security.
• Proven experience securing AWS, Azure, and GCP.
• IaC experience with Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Proficient scripting in Python or Bash.
• Familiarity with container security (Docker/Kubernetes).
• Strong communication for remote collaboration.
• Cloud security certifications are a plus.

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Remote Cloud Security Engineer to join their fully remote technology team. This role is essential for ensuring the security and integrity of our client's cloud infrastructure and services across various cloud platforms. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing security controls, conducting security assessments, and responding to cloud-specific security incidents. This is a fantastic opportunity for a cloud security expert who is looking for a remote-first position, allowing you to contribute to securing complex cloud environments from anywhere. You will play a key role in safeguarding our client's data and applications in the cloud.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain security architecture and controls for cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Develop and enforce security policies and best practices for cloud deployments.
• Conduct security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration tests of cloud infrastructure.
• Implement and manage cloud security tools, including firewalls, WAFs, security monitoring, and identity and access management solutions.
• Respond to and remediate cloud security incidents and threats.
• Automate security processes and deployments using scripting and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.
• Collaborate with development and operations teams to ensure secure cloud application development and deployment.
• Monitor cloud environments for security compliance and potential breaches.
• Stay current with cloud security trends, emerging threats, and best practices.
• Provide expertise and guidance on cloud security best practices to internal teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in cybersecurity, with at least 2 years focused specifically on cloud security.
• Proven experience securing major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Strong understanding of cloud security principles, IAM, network security, data protection, and threat detection in cloud environments.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation.
• Familiarity with container security (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, suitable for a remote team environment.
• Relevant cloud security certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Security - Specialty, Azure Security Engineer Associate) are highly desirable.
