Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly motivated Remote Project Engineer to join a dynamic civil construction team supporting projects in and around Richards Bay. This fully remote role provides engineering planning and oversight without on-site daily presence.

You will review drawings, manage documentation, and collaborate with on-site managers, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure safety, quality, and timely delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in civil construction project engineering with strong project lifecycle understanding.
• Proficiency in project management software and CAD /BIM tools for design review.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, essential for a remote role.
• Ability to analyze technical data and provide clear, actionable recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Provide remote engineering expertise for planning, design, and execution of civil construction projects.
• Review and approve engineering drawings, specifications, and construction methodologies.
• Monitor project progress remotely through regular reporting, site updates, and virtual meetings.
• Assist in resolving technical issues during construction.
• Ensure all activities comply with engineering standards, safety regulations, and environmental policies.
• Manage project documentation including progress reports, permits, and change orders.
