Placements24 is seeking a skilled Civil Design Engineer to join a fully remote team delivering infrastructure projects across South Africa. You will conceptualize, design, and develop project plans using advanced CAD tools while collaborating with distributed teams.

The ideal candidate has a minimum of 5 years of civil design experience, proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D, and a strong grasp of drainage and utility design.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or closely related field.
• Professional registration with ECSA is preferred but not essential for all candidates.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in civil design engineering.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other relevant design software.
• Strong understanding of geometric design, grading, drainage, and utility design principles.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed civil engineering designs for infrastructure projects, including site development, roads, drainage, and utilities.
• Utilize CAD and other design software to produce accurate drawings, specifications, and reports.
• Conduct site analyses and preliminary design studies for new projects.
• Collaborate effectively with remote project teams, clients, and stakeholders via digital platforms.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant national standards, building codes, and environmental regulations.
• Review and approve design revisions and technical submittals.
• Assist in the preparation of tender documents and cost estimates.
• Provide technical support and guidance to junior engineers and designers.
• Maintain project documentation and records in a structured digital format.
