Placements24 is seeking a Chief Mining Engineer to lead our remote Operations Strategy division for a prominent international mining group. You will define and implement innovative operational strategies across a diverse mining portfolio, evaluating technologies and driving efficiency while upholding safety and sustainability.

The role requires 15+ years in mining operations, advanced degrees, and proven leadership to guide teams globally from a remote strategic hub.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or Ph.D. in Mining Engineering or a closely related field.
• Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in mining operations and engineering management.
• Extensive experience with underground and open-pit mining methods and technologies.
• Proven track record in developing and implementing operational strategies.
• Strong understanding of mine planning, geotechnical engineering, and mineral processing principles.

Responsibilities

• Develop and refine long-term operational strategies for the company's mining assets.
• Evaluate and recommend the adoption of new mining technologies and methodologies.
• Drive initiatives to improve operational efficiency, productivity, and cost-effectiveness.
• Ensure adherence to safety, health, and environmental management standards.
• Provide expert technical guidance and mentorship to mining engineering teams globally.
• Conduct feasibility studies and technical reviews of new and existing mining projects.
• Collaborate with executive leadership to align operational strategies with business objectives.
• Analyze operational performance data and identify areas for improvement.
• Develop and implement best practice guidelines across mining operations.
• Stay abreast of global mining trends, innovations, and regulatory changes.
