About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced and results-driven Mine Operations Manager to oversee operations at their facility near George . This leadership position is vital for ensuring the safe, efficient, and profitable extraction of mineral resources. You will be responsible for managing all day-to-day mining activities, from planning and execution to team supervision and performance monitoring. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of open-pit or underground mining techniques, a strong commitment to operational excellence, and the ability to foster a productive and safe working environment for all personnel. Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and oversee daily, weekly, and monthly mine production plans.
• Manage and lead a diverse team of mining professionals, operators, and support staff.
• Ensure strict adherence to all health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies.
• Optimize mining methods, equipment utilization, and resource allocation for maximum efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective actions to achieve production targets.
• Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and geology departments to ensure seamless operations.

Requirements

• A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in mine management, with at least 5 years in a supervisory role.
• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or a related field.
• Proven experience in managing complex mining operations, including planning, scheduling, and budgeting.
• Strong knowledge of mining equipment, safety protocols, and regulatory compliance in South Africa .
• Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate large teams in a challenging operational environment.
