Placements24 is seeking a Research Scientist in Bioinformatics for a fully remote position. The role focuses on advancing understanding of complex biological systems by analyzing large-scale genomics and proteomics data.

The ideal candidate will develop computational pipelines, apply ML methods, and work with a globally distributed team to drive health outcomes through data-driven insights.

Formación

• Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
• Extensive experience with programming languages such as Python or R, and proficiency with bioinformatics tools and databases.
• Demonstrated experience in analyzing diverse biological datasets (genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics).
• Solid understanding of statistical methods and machine learning algorithms relevant to biological data.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote team environment.

Responsabilidades

• Develop and implement sophisticated bioinformatics pipelines for NGS data (WGS, WES, RNA-Seq).
• Apply statistical and machine learning techniques to identify patterns, biomarkers, and targets.
• Collaborate with experimental biologists and clinicians to interpret results and guide research directions.
• Manage and maintain large biological datasets, ensuring data integrity and accessibility.
• Contribute to writing scientific publications, grant proposals, and technical documentation.
