Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly skilled Remote Automotive Systems Integration Engineer to join a globally distributed team in South Africa. You will drive the integration of ECUs and subsystems across infotainment, ADAS and connectivity domains, from requirements through verification.

The role requires 5+ years in automotive systems integration, strong electronics knowledge, and experience with CAN/LIN/Ethernet, UDS/OBD-II, and DOORS/Jama.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Computer, Automotive Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years in automotive systems integration or closely related field.
• Strong understanding of automotive electronics, embedded systems, and vehicle networks (CAN, LIN, Ethernet).
• Experience with diagnostic tools and protocols (UDS, OBD-II).
• Proficiency in requirements management and systems engineering tools (DOORS, Jama).
• Familiarity with software development lifecycles and agile methodologies.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for remote collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Define and manage system integration requirements for automotive ECUs and subsystems.
• Develop and execute integration test plans to verify inter-system functionality.
• Diagnose and resolve complex integration issues across hardware, software and protocols.
• Collaborate with hardware, software and V&V teams across locations.
• Analyze system performance and identify optimization opportunities.
• Create and maintain documentation for system architecture and test results.
• Utilize CAN, LIN, Ethernet and other automotive protocols for testing and debugging.
• Support NPI from a systems integration perspective.
• Keep abreast of emerging automotive technologies and trends.
• Participate in virtual design reviews and team meetings.
