Placements24 is recruiting a Remote Automotive Embedded Systems Engineer to join a global automotive tech team. You will design, develop, and deploy embedded software for ECUs and ADAS platforms using C/C++ and RTOS, collaborating with international engineers.

The role emphasizes safety, performance, and power efficiency, with full remote flexibility from Mossel Bay, Western Cape. A strong background in automotive protocols and debugging tools is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 4+ years of embedded systems experience, preferably in automotive.
• Strong C/C++ programming and RTOS experience.
• Familiarity with automotive comms protocols (CAN/LIN/FlexRay/Ethernet).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain embedded software for automotive ECUs and control modules.
• Implement and optimize RTOS and firmware.
• Develop drivers and middleware for automotive hardware components.
• Collaborate with system architects and hardware engineers on software requirements.
• Perform unit and integration testing, debugging of embedded software.
• Ensure compliance with automotive safety standards (ISO 26262) where applicable.
• Optimize software for performance, memory usage, and power consumption.
• Contribute to testing methodologies and tools for embedded systems.
