Placements24 is seeking a proficient Remote Automotive Embedded Software Developer to join its engineering team. The role focuses on designing, developing, and testing embedded software for engine control units, body control modules, and infotainment systems across South Africa.

You will work in a remote, collaborative environment, using C/C++, RTOS, and automotive protocols like CAN and LIN to deliver high-quality, reliable software that meets safety and automotive standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience as an Embedded Software Developer, preferably in automotive.
• Proficiency in C and/or C++ and RTOS.
• Familiarity with CAN, LIN, and Automotive Ethernet.
• Experience with embedded development tools and Git.
• Strong problem-solving and remote teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain embedded software for automotive applications using C/C++ and RTOS.
• Design and optimize modules for performance, reliability, and efficiency.
• Write clean, documented, testable code and participate in code reviews.
• Collaborate with system engineers and hardware developers on requirements and architecture.
• Debug and troubleshoot embedded software using diagnostic tools in a remote setting.
• Ensure adherence to automotive quality standards and safety regulations.
