Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Remote Automotive Embedded Systems Engineer to join a distributed engineering team. You will design, develop, test, and integrate embedded software for ECUs, including powertrain control and ADAS, with emphasis on RTOS, CAN/LIN, and AUTOSAR-like architectures.

The role supports a remote-first approach with collaboration across a global team. Requires 4–6 years in automotive embedded software and strong C/C++ skills. Competitive salary and benefits offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related field.
• 4–6 years of embedded software experience in automotive.
• Proficient in C/C++ with understanding of embedded constraints.
• Experience with RTOS (FreeRTOS, VxWorks, QNX).
• Familiar with CAN, LIN, Automotive Ethernet; basic tools and debugging.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and debug embedded software for automotive ECUs in C/C++.
• Develop real-time software for engine, transmission, and sensor apps.
• Optimize software for microcontrollers within resource constraints.
• Work with AUTOSAR or similar automotive architectures.
• Develop unit and integration tests; ensure software quality.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers for hardware-software integration.
• Participate in code reviews and resolve defects.
• Translate system requirements into software design specs.
• Stay updated on embedded technology and automotive standards.
