Placements24 is seeking a remote Automotive Embedded Software Engineer to design, develop, test, and maintain embedded software for automotive ECUs from a home office. The role emphasizes C/C++ coding, RTOS, and automotive communication protocols in a fully remote setting.

You will collaborate with a global team, develop software drivers, and perform unit/integration testing to ensure quality. A strong background in RTOS and CAN/LIN protocols is essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in embedded software development.
• Proven experience in automotive embedded software development is essential.
• Strong proficiency in C and/or C++ programming languages.
• Solid understanding of RTOS concepts with experience in RTOS (e.g., OSEK, FreeRTOS).
• Experience with CAN and LIN and diagnostic tools (CANalyzer, CANoe).
• Familiarity with AUTOSAR architecture is advantageous.
• Experience with Git and build tools, excellent debugging and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote team environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement embedded software for automotive ECUs (Electronic Control Units).
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code in C and/or C++.
• Develop and debug software on target hardware using JTAG debuggers and emulators.
• Implement and optimize software for real-time operating systems (RTOS).
• Develop and integrate software drivers for various hardware peripherals.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers to define software requirements and validate hardware/software integration.
• Create and execute unit tests and integration tests to ensure software quality.
• Work with CAN, LIN, FlexRay, and Automotive Ethernet protocols.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to process improvements.
• Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and issues reported by QA or customers.
