Western Cape Government is seeking a meticulous Remote Accounts Payable Specialist to manage all AP activities from a home-based office. The role emphasizes timely payment processing, accurate coding, and strong vendor relations, with independence to meet deadlines in a fully remote setup.

The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and proficient with AP software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or SAP Business One, plus MS Excel.

Formación

• High school diploma or equivalent; bookkeeping/accounting coursework is a plus.
• 1–3 years in accounts payable or similar accounting role.
• Proficiency with accounting software and MS Excel.
• Strong understanding of AP processes and best practices.
• Excellent organizational and remote work capabilities.

Responsabilidades

• Process vendor invoices with proper coding and approvals.
• Schedule timely payments via EFT, checks, or other methods.
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain AP ledger and ensure accurate transactions.
• Respond to vendor inquiries and assist with month-end closing.
• Assist in AP policies and procedures implementation.
