Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Agile Project Manager to lead multiple software teams in a fully remote Durban-based environment. You will guide agile ceremonies, ensure timely delivery, and collaborate with product owners, developers, and QA to drive continuous improvement.

The role requires strong communication, 4+ years in Agile roles, and a CS/IT degree, with CSF certification preferred. Remote-friendly culture, competitive package, and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
Minimum of 4 years of experience as an Agile Project Manager or Scrum Master, preferably in software development.
Strong understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and their practical application.
Experience with project management and collaboration tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Trello).
Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills, essential for remote team management.
Proven ability to guide and motivate software development teams.
Experience in managing multiple concurrent projects and delivering within tight deadlines.
Scrum Master (CSM) or similar agile certification is highly preferred.
A proactive approach to problem-solving and risk management.
Ability to thrive in a fully remote, fast-paced development environment.

Responsibilities

Facilitate agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
Coach and mentor development teams on agile principles and practices.
Manage project backlogs, ensuring user stories are well-defined, estimated, and prioritized.
Track project progress, identify and resolve impediments, and manage risks proactively.
Ensure clear communication channels are maintained between development teams, product owners, and other stakeholders.
Work with product management to define project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business objectives.
Monitor team velocity and productivity, implementing improvements to enhance efficiency.
Maintain project documentation and ensure adherence to coding standards and quality assurance processes.
Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment, even in a remote setting.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of agile processes and best practices across the organization.
