Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Remote Project Manager to own the full software development lifecycle for diverse projects within South Africa. You will lead distributed teams, facilitate agile ceremonies, and ensure timely, high-quality delivery from a home office.

Key requirements include 5+ years in software project management, strong Agile experience (Scrum/Kanban), and proficiency with Jira/Confluence/Asana. This remote role offers growth, bonuses, and access to modern tooling.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in CS/IT or equivalent practical experience.
Minimum 5 years as a Project Manager with software development focus.
Proven experience delivering software projects using Agile (Scrum/Kanban) in remote teams.
Strong proficiency with Jira, Confluence, Asana or similar tools.
Excellent written and verbal communication, collaboration, and problem solving.

Responsibilities

Lead multiple software projects from initiation to closure in a remote setting.
Define scope, requirements, and deliverables with product owners and teams.
Facilitate virtual agile ceremonies (sprint planning, standups, reviews, retros).
Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules and budgets.
Identify, track, and mitigate issues and risks; escalate when needed.
Maintain clear communication across distributed teams using collaboration tools.
Provide regular status updates to stakeholders and manage documentation.
Drive continuous improvement in development processes and team performance.
