Placements24 is seeking an Actuarial Analyst for a fully remote role in South Africa. You will work on pricing, reserving, and financial projections for life insurance products, applying experience analyses to pricing assumptions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science or related quantitative field.
• Progress towards actuarial qualifications (exams passed with a recognized actuarial society).
• Minimum 4 years of life insurance actuarial experience.
• Proficiency in Prophet/AXIS and advanced Excel.
• Programming skills in R, Python, or VBA are highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance actuarial models for pricing, reserving, and financial projections.
• Perform experience analyses (morbidity, mortality, lapse) to inform pricing assumptions.
• Assist in development and implementation of new life insurance products, including pricing.
• Conduct regular reviews of financial results and provide actuarial input for reporting.
• Collaborate with underwriting, product development, and finance for insights.
• Support regulatory reporting with actuarial data and reports.
• Stay updated on industry trends and actuarial techniques.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of actuarial processes and systems.
