Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Remote Accountant to manage full-cycle accounting from anywhere in South Africa. You will ensure accurate records, compliance, and support for financial health in a remote-first setup.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Accounting/Finance, 4+ years’ experience, and familiarity with IFRS/GAAP, QuickBooks, Xero, and SAP. Strong communication and time-management skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
• Professional accounting qualifications (CA(SA), ACCA, CIMA) are a strong asset.
• Minimum 4 years of progressive accounting experience with full-cycle accounting.

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of the general ledger, including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions with timely processing.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets and cash flow statements.
• Ensure IFRS/GAAP compliance and local tax regulations.
• Assist with budget preparation and variance analysis.
• Support internal and external audits with documentation and explanations.
• Continuously evaluate and improve accounting processes and controls.
• Maintain strong vendor and stakeholder relationships.
