The ideal candidate has an LLB, admission as Attorney or Advocate, 5+ years in financial services regulation, strong analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• LLB degree or equivalent legal qualification.
• Admitted as an Attorney or Advocate of the High Court of South Africa.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant legal experience focusing on financial services regulation and compliance.
• In-depth knowledge of FAIS Act, FICA, POPIA and related regulatory frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert legal advice on regulatory and compliance matters in financial services.
• Interpret and apply financial services laws, regulations, and guidelines.
• Develop, implement and maintain compliance policies and procedures.
• Monitor regulatory changes and assess impact on operations.
• Liaise with FSCA, FIC and other regulators.
• Support internal investigations and audits.
• Advise business units on regulatory risks of new products and initiatives.
• Assist in regulatory inquiries, inspections and reporting.
• Deliver training on compliance and regulatory topics.
