Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Compliance Officer to lead the Legal and Compliance function in East London, Eastern Cape. The role focuses on monitoring regulations, implementing robust compliance programs, and advising business units to ensure adherence to FAIS, FICA, POPIA and related laws.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, 5+ years in financial services compliance, and strong analytical and communication skills to navigate complex regulatory environments

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Law, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years in compliance, legal, or risk within financial services.
• Proficiency in compliance software and strong analytical abilities.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and interpret applicable financial regulations and legislation.
• Develop, implement and maintain compliance policies and procedures.
• Conduct compliance risk assessments and internal audits to identify gaps.
• Oversee corrective actions to address compliance deficiencies.
• Advise business units on compliance requirements and best practices.
• Manage regulatory reporting and submissions to authorities.
• Develop and deliver compliance training for employees.
• Investigate potential compliance breaches as needed.
