Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage a team of delivery drivers, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
• Plan and optimize daily delivery routes to ensure efficiency, timeliness, and cost-effectiveness.
• Monitor driver performance, adherence to schedules, and compliance with safety protocols.
• Conduct regular vehicle inspections and ensure fleet vehicles are maintained in good condition.
• Investigate and resolve delivery-related issues, customer complaints, and operational challenges promptly.
• Ensure accurate completion and submission of delivery manifests, logs, and other documentation.
• Collaborate with warehouse and sales teams to coordinate shipment readiness and delivery schedules.
• Maintain a strong focus on safety and a safe working environment for the delivery team.

About the Role

Our client, a leading national distributor, is seeking an experienced and results-driven Regional Delivery Supervisor to oversee delivery operations within the Paarl, Western Cape area. This hands‑on role is critical for ensuring efficient, safe, and timely delivery of products to our diverse customer base. You will manage a team of delivery drivers, optimize routes, monitor performance, and ensure compliance with all company policies and industry regulations. The ideal candidate possesses strong leadership skills, a comprehensive understanding of logistics and fleet management, and a passion for operational excellence. You will be the key point of contact for delivery-related issues in the region, working closely with dispatch and warehouse teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage a team of delivery drivers, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
• Plan and optimize daily delivery routes to ensure efficiency, timeliness, and cost-effectiveness.
• Monitor driver performance, adherence to schedules, and compliance with safety protocols.

Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in a supervisory or management role within logistics, transportation, or delivery operations.
• Proven leadership skills with experience managing a team of drivers.
• Strong understanding of route planning, dispatching, and fleet management principles.
• Knowledge of relevant road safety regulations and transportation laws in South Africa.
• Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
• Proficiency in using dispatch software and fleet management tools.
• A valid professional driving permit (e.g., Code 10 or Code 14) is highly advantageous.
• Must be based in or able to reliably commute to Paarl, Western Cape.
• A proactive approach to operational efficiency and continuous improvement.
