Job summary

Astron Energy (Pty) Ltd. in Milnerton, Western Cape, seeks a Refinery Operations Engineer with 7+ years of experience to oversee North and B&S areas, align production with the operating plan, and ensure safe, reliable refinery performance.

You will collaborate with EVCO optimisation, Process Engineers, and planning teams to optimise constraints, drive value, and develop KPI dashboards to track refinery performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical, process or mechanical engineering.
• 7+ years of refinery operations/process engineering experience.
• Experience translating technical performance into operational actions.
• Experience with refinery optimisation and production teams.

Responsibilities

• Ensure refinery operates according to the agreed operating plan while maintaining safe and reliable constraints.
• Collaborate with Process Engineers, EVCO Optimisation, and planning teams to validate production and blending plans.
• Lead identification and execution of short- and medium-term optimisation opportunities.
• Develop and maintain refinery KPI dashboards and optimization parameters.
• Coordinate with shift teams and EVCO to minimise deviations from targets.
