Placements24 is seeking a proactive Senior Process Engineer to provide operations support for facilities in Randburg. The role focuses on optimizing existing processes, troubleshooting issues, and driving improvements to enhance efficiency, safety, and product quality in oil and gas operations.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's in Chemical Engineering with 7+ years in petrochemical/oil and gas, strong analytical skills, and hands-on experience with process simulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related field.
• At least 7 years' experience in petrochemical or oil & gas process engineering.
• Proficiency with Aspen Plus or HYSYS and data analysis tools.
• Strong knowledge of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics and mass transfer.

Responsibilities

• Analyze process data to identify optimization opportunities and cost reductions.
• Provide technical support to operations to resolve process upsets and equipment issues.
• Lead or participate in PHAs and implement safety improvements.
• Develop SOPs and operator training materials.
• Evaluate and recommend process modifications and debottlenecking projects.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive Senior Process Engineer to provide crucial operations support for their facilities in Randburg . This role focuses on optimizing existing processes, troubleshooting operational issues, and implementing improvements to enhance efficiency, safety, and product quality within the oil and gas operations . You will work closely with plant operators, maintenance teams, and project engineers to ensure seamless and reliable production. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in chemical engineering principles, excellent analytical skills, and experience in troubleshooting complex process challenges. This position offers a valuable opportunity to make a direct impact on operational performance and continuous improvement initiatives in the Gauteng region.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze process data to identify areas for optimization, cost reduction, and efficiency gains.
• Provide technical support to operations teams to resolve process upsets and equipment issues.
• Lead or participate in Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs) and implement recommended safety improvements.
• Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) and operator training materials.
• Evaluate and recommend process modifications, debottlenecking projects, and technology upgrades.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in process engineering within the petrochemical or oil and gas industry .
• Proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS) and data analysis tools.
• Strong understanding of thermodynamics , fluid mechanics, and mass transfer principles.
• Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.
