What youll be responsible for Supervising the daily receiving operation, including vehicle arrivals, offloading and receiving priorities. Managing and verifying deliveries against purchase orders, delivery notes and system requirements. Ensuring accurate quantities, product codes, batch/lot details and supporting documentation. Managing the GRV process and ensuring receiving procedures are followed correctly. Identifying and resolving shortages, over-deliveries, damages and incorrect stock. Ensuring all receipts are accurately captured on the ERP/WMS system. Maintaining inventory accuracy from receipt through to put-away. Coordinating with Procurement, Planning, Production, Quality and Warehouse teams regarding incoming stock and discrepancies. Managing receiving queues, staging areas and turnaround times. Overseeing the sheet board and WIP area , ensuring accuracy and proper control. Coordinating cycle counts, stock takes and variance investigations. Ensuring stock is correctly identified, segregated and moved to the appropriate storage locations. Maintaining a safe, organised and efficient receiving environment. Leading and developing Receiving Clerks, Forklift Operators and Warehouse Assistants. Allocating daily responsibilities, monitoring performance and addressing operational issues. Conducting toolbox talks and ensuring adherence to health and safety requirements. Monitoring receiving KPIs and identifying opportunities to improve accuracy, productivity and turnaround times. Taking responsibility for the pallet area , including pallet stock levels, the pallet controller, repair yard and monthly reporting on pallet purchases and repairs. What we're looking for Were looking for someone who is operationally strong, detail-oriented and comfortable taking ownership .
You should have:
Grade 12 / Matric. At least 3 years' experience in warehouse receiving, stores or inventory control . 12 years' supervisory experience within a warehouse or logistics environment. Experience in manufacturing, packaging, FMCG, logistics or distribution would be advantageous. Strong knowledge of receiving procedures, stock control and inventory reconciliation. Experience managing GRVs and receiving discrepancies . ERP/WMS experience, with good understanding of system-based stock transactions. Good Excel and reporting skills. Strong understanding of warehouse health and safety requirements. The ability to lead a team while remaining hands-on and operationally involved. A forklift licence, logistics/warehouse qualification or supervisory training would be advantageous.
