Job summary

Pedros Chicken is seeking a Receiving Manager to oversee all receiving operations, ensuring accurate receiving, inspection, and recording of goods. You will lead the receiving team, coordinate unloading, and maintain compliance with inventory controls and safety standards.

The role requires FIFO/FEFO understanding, 3–5 years in related roles, and a minimum 2 years of supervisory experience. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • Matric and degree/diploma in SCM, Logistics or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in warehouse receiving, inventory control or logistics operations.
  • At least 2 years’ supervisory or management experience.
  • Understanding of FIFO and FEFO procedures.
  • WMS experience is required.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and supervise all receiving activities for stock, materials and equipment.
  • Verify deliveries against purchase orders, invoices and delivery notes.
  • Ensure accurate counting, inspection and recording of received goods.
  • Investigate discrepancies, shortages, damages and delivery errors.
  • Coordinate unloading and movement of goods to storage locations.
  • Supervise, train and develop receiving staff.
  • Allocate daily workloads and monitor performance.
  • Promote teamwork, accountability and productivity in the receiving department.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching.
  • Liaise with suppliers, transport, procurement and internal teams.
  • Communicate delivery schedules and receiving issues promptly.
  • Support operational planning and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Prepare and submit receiving, inventory and performance reports.
  • Monitor receiving KPIs and recommend process improvements.
  • Maintain accurate records for audits and compliance.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Receiving Manager is responsible for overseeing all receiving operations to ensure that incoming goods, materials, and supplies are received accurately, inspected, recorded, and stored efficiently. The role ensures compliance with company policies, inventory control procedures, safety regulations, and quality standards while leading the receiving team to achieve operational excellence.



  1. Manage and supervise all receiving activities for incoming stock, materials, and equipment

  2. Verify deliveries against purchase orders, invoices, and delivery notes

  3. Ensure accurate counting, inspection, and recording of received goods

  4. Investigate and resolve discrepancies, shortages, damages, and delivery errors

  5. Coordinate unloading and movement of goods to designated storage locations

  6. Supervise, train, and develop receiving staff

  7. Allocate daily workloads and monitor employee performance

  8. Promote teamwork, accountability, and productivity within the receiving department

  9. Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching where required

  10. Liaise with suppliers, transport providers, procurement teams, and internal departments

  11. Communicate delivery schedules and receiving issues promptly

  12. Support operational planning and continuous improvement initiatives

  13. Prepare and submit receiving, inventory, and performance reports

  14. Monitor receiving KPIs and recommend process improvements

  15. Maintain accurate records for audits and compliance purposes

  16. Strong knowledge of receiving, warehousing, and inventory control procedures

REQUIREMENTS:
