Placements24 is seeking a strategic Real Estate Development Manager in Cape Town to lead major property developments from inception to completion. You will coordinate with investors, architects, contractors and authorities to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to high quality standards.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in development management with a strong finance, zoning and construction background and excellent negotiation and leadership skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Property Development, Urban Planning, Business or related field.
• 7+ years of progressive real estate development project management experience.
• Proven track record delivering complex developments from conception to handover.
• Strong knowledge of property finance, land use regulations, and Cape Town processes.
• Excellent negotiation, leadership, and strategic planning skills.
• Proficiency in project management software and financial modeling.

Responsibilities

• Identify and evaluate potential development opportunities around Cape Town.
• Manage the entire development process: site acquisition, feasibility, design, permitting, financing, and construction.
• Develop detailed project plans, budgets, and timelines and oversee execution.
• Negotiate contracts with developers, contractors, consultants, and providers.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a strategic and results-oriented Real Estate Development Manager to lead significant projects in the vibrant city of Cape Town . This role is central to identifying, planning, and executing new property developments from inception to completion, managing all aspects of the development lifecycle. You will work closely with stakeholders, including investors, architects, contractors, and local authorities, to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in development management within the Western Cape property sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and evaluate potential new real estate development opportunities in and around Cape Town .
• Manage the entire development process, including site acquisition, feasibility studies, design, permitting, financing, and construction.
• Develop detailed project plans, budgets, and timelines, and oversee their execution.
• Negotiate contracts with developers, contractors, consultants, and other service providers.
• Ensure all projects comply with local zoning laws, building codes, and environmental regulations.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, community groups, and investors.
